17 differents communities compose Spain, as you can see in the map, the autonomous communities of Andalucía and both Castillas (León and La Mancha) are the biggest ones, however, Ceuta and Melilla, in the south, are the smallest ones.

 

They are: Andalucía, Extremadura, Murcia, Madrid, Valencia,

Islas Baleares, Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, Euskadi, Islas Canarias,

Navarra, Cataluña, Aragón, La Rioja, Ceuta and Melilla.



Autonomous communities are composed of provinces (provincias), which serve as the territorial building blocks for the former.
